“If my queer identity informs my understanding of my Christian faith, might the lessons of queer identity help other Christians better understand their faith, too?”
The answer to this powerful question posed by Liz Edman is a resounding YES. At Open Table Birmingham on 17th July, Danielle Wilson (minister at Inclusive Gathering Birmingham ) will be reflecting on the ways that queer spirituality and her relationships with LGBTQIA+ people have completely revitalised her faith in Jesus (as a straight, cisgender woman).
We’ll be changing up our format a bit, trying out what we’re affectionately calling the cafe/ liturgical style, with time to chat around tables, eat cake and speak life-giving words of liturgy together. As always, we will be sharing communion together – our table is open to all.
Join us at 3pm at Wylde Green URC (we’re meeting in Room 1 – entrance just off the car park. There is free parking, the venue is fully accessible and located a short distance from Wylde Green station.
