In Matthew 6:19-34 Jesus addresses the crowd, challenging them not to worry about where their food or clothes will come from. What did he mean? But what do Jesus’ words mean for the poor or marginalised, when the fear of hunger is real, not hypothetical? What do these words mean in the time of Covid-19?

This Sunday our friends Ash and Anji Barker of Newbigin Community Trust will reflect on Jesus’ words and these tough questions from their community in Winson Green. If you haven’t met Ash and Anji, watch this clip of them (and their alpacas) on Songs of Praise here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06nnfk3

We’ll also sing along with the WHOLE Inclusive Gathering Band (with the help of modern technology), we’ll hear a story of community volunteering and potato peeling, and share a love feast with Naomi & Lizzie (who ALSO work with Newbigin Trust), reflecting on what it means to share food in community knowing that others don’t have enough.
