“Maundy Thursday” (also known as Holy Thursday) is the day during Holy Week when we remember the last supper that Jesus shared with his disciples and friends.
On Maundy Thursday evening (28th March) we’ll be meeting together (from 6:30pm for a 6:45pm start) at the Ibis to share a special community meal, and a time of musical worship and communion together.
“Maundy” comes from the Latin word mandatum, or commandment, reflecting Jesus’ words “I give you a new commandment.
All are welcome to join us for the meal and to celebrate communion with us.
We’re a diverse, justice-seeking, LGBTQIA+ affirming church for ALL based in Brum’s Gay Village (City Centre). We’re a community learning to practice God’s radical love & inclusion the best we can.
We’ll have friendly people and signs to point you in the right direction.
The Ibis is wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets.
Ibis is a 5 minute walk from New Street Station and city centre Bus Routes.
There is parking in Ibis’ underground lot (£8 all day) and if that is full the APCOA multi-story lot is directly across the street (£9 for 3 hours).
This video shows how to find us at Ibis from New Street station and also explains access. https://youtu.be/YRr-mtt7hX0?si=VF6S3BqQ7n1_iE0B
If there is anything we can do to make it easier for you to join in, please let us know!
