IGB in the Loft – Church in the Gay Village
October 9, 2022
03:00 pm - 05:00 pm
The Loft
143 Bromsgrove Street
Birmingham, United Kingdom, B5 6RG
Since we kicked off October in serious style with 9BEATS singing and rhyming about ‘The Way of Jesus’ through his Beatitudes (or blessings) … we’re going to continue that theme in our conversations and contemplation the rest of the month.
On the 9th October Danielle will be talking about the Way of Trust, on the 16th Pete will look at the Way of Surrender, on the 23rd Rob Taylor (of 9 Beats) will be joining us again to talk about the Way of Lament and on the 30th, Tash will discuss the Way of Compassion. Then on the first Sunday of November we’ll finish up our whistle-stop journey through the Beatitudes by celebrating the way of radical love.
In case you’d like to dig bit deeper into the Beatitudes than our Sunday meet-ups, we’re loosely basing these discussions on The Ninefold Path of Jesus: Hidden Wisdom of the Beatitudes (a book that accompanies the creative work of 9 Beats). Here’s a video of the author Mark Scandrette talking about the book. https://youtu.be/CBW-K0eYXAU

We’re a diverse, justice-seeking, LGBTQIA+ affirming church for ALL based in Brum’s Gay Village (City Centre). We’re a community learning to practice God’s radical love & inclusion the best we can.
We meet Upstairs at the Loft on Sunday afternoons at 3pm. Our large worship gathering happens on the 1st Sunday of each month in the Penthouse and will also be livestreamed to Facebook Live. Our other weekly gatherings will take place upstairs in the Madison room and are lower-key, centred around spiritual connection & conversation.
We’ll have friendly people and signs to point you in the right direction – you can go straight upstairs via the entrance under the Pride House sign, or go through the main Loft entrance to take the lift upstairs.
The Loft is in the heart of the Gay Village. It is fully accessible and a short distance from New Street Station and city centre Bus Routes.
For those who may be driving in, you may be able to find free parking on the street (as it is Sunday) but you can also pay for parking at the Hurst Street Car Park very nearby (it’s cheaper than the Arcadian). If you haven’t already, please do check that your vehicle complies with the clean air zone (or you may be charged).
If there is anything we can do to make it easier for your to join in, please let us know!
