We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting Alex Clare-Young (author of Transgender. Christian. Human.) as a guest speaker at Inclusive Gathering Birmingham‘s Online Inclusive Worship Gathering at 4pm on Sunday, 12th July on Facebook Live & YouTube. Alex will THEN be joining us for a live Q&A Discussion at 5:15 via Zoom.
Alex will be sharing some of his personal journey and reflecting on being “Transgender, Christian & Human.” You can watch Alex being interviewed recently on BBC Songs of Praise here.
In order to make sure our discussion feels safe and inclusive, we are asking participants to register (free) for this discussion via EventBrite. Access to the Zoom discussion will become visible through EventBrite after registration.
(Registration is NOT required to access the 4pm online events).
This is an exciting part of our learning journey as Inclusive Gathering Birmingham as we actively grow into our calling to be a radically inclusive faith community. Whether you are a regular part of our gatherings or not, you are invited to come along and be part of this special afternoon with us.
ABOUT INCLUSIVE GATHERING BIRMINGHAM …
We believe that the way of Jesus leads us to the wild, radical idea that true spiritual community can be formed based on who is INCLUDED, not by who is EXCLUDED. We are a learning community, constantly growing and changing to live out this vision in new and expanding ways.
When we say “inclusion”, we mean much more than mere tolerance or welcome. We believe God wants us all to know that we actually belong. That means people of every race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, age and background, HIV status, ability and disability, theological and political conviction are loved, invited, and fully included. No secondary status if you’re a woman. No bait and switch if you’re LGBTQ. No restrictions in the fine print if you have doubts or questions about faith.
