Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, 4th April our gathering will be LIVE (from 3:45 for a 4pm start) on Facebook Live. (For technical reasons, we can’t stream to YouTube, but you can watch on Facebook even without an account, and we’ll upload to YouTube later).
We’ll be livestreaming from Zoom, so if you would like to be one of the folks on the Zoom with us live, you can do so here (we’ll stop admitting people to the Zoom at 4:05):
Meeting ID: 853 6699 5635
Passcode: 123674
Otherwise, you can watch on FB Live as usual.
At the end of the first part of the gathering, we’ll stop the livestream and invite everyone to join us on Zoom for our usual Zoom discussion and breakout groups. You can join the Zoom straight away for some casual chat, but our discussion won’t really kick off until 5:15 to give people a chance to have a break.

Question for Sharing – What are your favourite signs of Spring?

Planting the Easter Wildflower Seeds (Rachel)

We plant these seeds on Easter Sunday as a sign of hope and of new birth. We sow with the knowledge that life and growth are not fully in our control. Today we give thanks that love will always conquer hate and that life triumphs over death.

These words of hope and expectation are from Nicola Slee:

God of all our growing,

take our roots down deep

in the long, dark winter season

of our grief.

Nurture the resurrection life in us,

in the secret places of the soil,

in the barren, frozen earth, underground,

where no eye can see.

Send your Spirit where the cold season rage

and speak to us the promise of spring.

 Scripture Reading (Luke 24: 1-12):

But very early on Sunday morning[a] the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.

The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man[b] must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.”

Then they remembered that he had said this. So they rushed back from the tomb to tell his eleven disciples—and everyone else—what had happened. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and several other women who told the apostles what had happened. 11 But the story sounded like nonsense to the men, so they didn’t believe it. 12 However, Peter jumped up and ran to the tomb to look. Stooping, he peered in and saw the empty linen wrappings; then he went home again, wondering what had happened.
