On Sunday 1st August, we’ll be holding a Summer Picnic and Outdoor Worship Gathering 2-6pm at the Edgbaston Quaker Meeting House Garden. (St James Road B15 1JP).
We’d like those attending to attend in person to register via EventBrite so we can keep numbers within a safe range.
This beautiful private garden is very near the city centre and < 5 minute walk from Five Ways Train Station.)
This will be a ‘bring your own picnic’ – we’ll have some seating, but bring a picnic blanket if you’d like. The garden is accessible and the venue has an accessible toilet. There is also space inside in case of rain (but let’s pray for sunshine).
This will be an informal gathering with plenty of time to chat and spend time together – there is space for social distancing. Pop in or come all afternoon.
From 4-4:45 we will have a live acoustic worship music session (led by Ali), with some poetry and rap thrown in there too – this part of the afternoon will be streamed to FB Live & YouTube for those not able to join us in person.
You can download the song booklet for our sing-along here, and we’ll also have copies of it available at the picnic too.
You can view our Covid Safety Plan/ Risk Assessment here.
About Inclusive Gathering Birmingham …
Inclusive Gathering Birmingham is a diverse church gathered together by a common dream: to become a truly inclusive faith community, where doubt and difference are a welcome part of our journey together toward Jesus. We believe that the way of Jesus leads us to the wild, radical idea that true spiritual community can be formed based on who is INCLUDED, not by who is EXCLUDED. We are a learning community, constantly growing and changing to live out this vision in new and expanding ways.
When we say “inclusion”, we mean much more than mere tolerance or welcome. We believe God wants us all to know that we actually belong. That means people of every race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, age and background, HIV status, ability and disability, theological and political conviction are loved, invited, and fully included. Read more about what makes us tick at www.inclusivegathering.org.uk or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to ask questions or chat.
