On Sunday 31st July, we’re having a Summer Party & Picnic at the Edgbaston Quaker Meeting House Garden. (11 St James Road B15 1JP).

You can bring your own picnic if you would like, but we’ll also have free cake and drinks on offer!

At 3pm we’ll have music from David Benjamin Blower and our own Joel the Custodian will be doing a few songs from his new album. This along with some other spatterings of creativity from our IGB community will be streamed to Facebook Live.

Do you have a song or a poem or a magic trick or something else creative, thoughtful or amusing you’d like to share on the day? Email newchurchbirmingham@gmail.com

We’ll have some seating, but bring a picnic blanket or a camping chair if you’d like. The main area of the garden is accessible and the venue has an accessible toilet. There is also space inside in case of rain (but let’s pray for sunshine).

This will be an informal summer gathering with plenty of time to chat and spend time together – there is space for social distancing. Pop in or come all afternoon.

If you are packing a picnic, please note that we can’t have alcohol on the premises.

About Inclusive Gathering Birmingham …

Inclusive Gathering Birmingham is a diverse church gathered together by a common dream: to become a truly inclusive faith community, where doubt and difference are a welcome part of our journey together toward Jesus. We believe that the way of Jesus leads us to the wild, radical idea that true spiritual community can be formed based on who is INCLUDED, not by who is EXCLUDED. We are a learning community, constantly growing and changing to live out this vision in new and expanding ways.

When we say “inclusion”, we mean much more than mere tolerance or welcome. We believe God wants us all to know that we actually belong. That means people of every race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, age and background, HIV status, ability and disability, theological and political conviction are loved, invited, and fully included. Read more about what makes us tick at www.inclusivegathering.org.uk or send an email to newchurchbirmingham@gmail.com to ask questions or chat.
