IGB Southside Peace Walk
September 17, 2023
03:00 pm - 05:00 pm
21 Ladywell Walk - Arcadian
Southside District, Birmingham City Centre, United Kingdom, B5 4ST
On Sunday, 17th September at 3pm we will be hosting a Southside Peace Walk. This is an opportunity to pray hope, joy, light, love and peace over our bit of the city.
We’ll meet at the Ibis Hotel (Arcadian) at 3pm and set out from there, reconvening from 4pm at The Loft for drinks and chat.
We’ll be taking in the sights and smells of Southside, holding sacred space as we walk. Feel free to join us at the Loft if the walk isn’t your thing. (Walking routes are put together with accessibility in mind).
If you are from a church background and the idea of a prayer walk makes you break out in a cold sweat … this is not a typical ‘prayer walk’ – it is based on this subtle, gentle, non-cringe and thoughtful walk designed by our friends in Manchester: https://bit.ly/FaPW_Facebook
In September we are meeting at the IBIS Hotel (Arcadian) on Sunday afternoons at 3pm. This is just around the corner from the Loft (2 minute walk).
For the month of September, we’re looking at the theme of Peace in a variety of ways!
We’re a diverse, justice-seeking, LGBTQIA+ affirming church for ALL based in Brum’s Gay Village (City Centre). We’re a community learning to practice God’s radical love & inclusion the best we can.
We’ll have friendly people and signs to point you in the right direction, including folks stationed at the Loft (if you end up there!) to point you in the right direction.
The Ibis is wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets.
Ibis is a 5 minute walk from New Street Station and city centre Bus Routes.
There is parking in Ibis’ underground lot (£8 all day) and if that is full the APCOA multi-story lot is directly across the street (£9 for 3 hours).
